Banger of a pod Ray. Really enjoyed listening to this, you are a great host! Also you mentioned something about dipping your toes into micro/flash fiction and that's kinda my jam so if ever want any pointers, just hit me up!

Just starting listening but I had to stop to comment on your opening… Bill Hicks ruled!!!! Nice work, Ray

Ok, back to the show…

Definitely one of his funniest bits, even if he punches down a little on the Waffle House waitress. Still hilarious though.

Oh gosh, I hope it was a pleasant introduction ha!

I mean, the introduction was through your writing - the voice and conversation was another dimension! It's clear you really enjoy talking about craft, which is always a pleasure to listen to.

Great podcast, love hearing both your opinions on fiction and substack. I enjoy when others give their input on something they’ve read. How it affected them. That’s why I started my Selected Stacks section. If you guys are ever into giving a recommendation and little review of a substack that writes mostly short stories, I would love to include it.

Finally got around to finishing this one, great job Ray and Clancy! On to the next one...but just wanted to say I really enjoyed the discussion about writing on Substack or anywhere online. Also loved Clancy's words concerning plot and description. I also think those bits of great description seem to just come out when in the midst of writing. Hard to plan those it seems. Oh and writing yourself into a corner...how many times have I done that...? Too many. Thanks again for this guys, really enjoyed it!
