Cool listen guys. Thanks for making it happen. Also, fuck both of you for making me pick the pen back up. 🫶🏼

If you read Bukowski, and don’t think he’s funny, I think you missed the assignment. Bukowski always struck me as the barfly type.

100% agree. Some people actually dislike humor. I have a whole theory I might explain one day if I can figure it out.

Everytime I visit NYC, I could 100% see living there. I’m sure I could do well there. But I like the elbow room out west. I also snowboard in winter. I have 5 places I can go within 90 minutes of my front door. I like going on hikes with almost no people around.

I think NYC being a 24hr city is underrated. Feels much less lonely than where I live.

As a resident of CT I feel attacked😂 I loved the interview.

It probably has its plusses, such as proximity to NYC ;)

I haven’t been to NY in ten years. I haven’t left the state in 7 years.

“I miss landlords”. LMAO

Man, in a world where landlords are constantly shit on, it’s nice to hear this. (I’m not a landlord but I am good at fixing things so this is all hilarious)

I’ll be the first to admit that I am one lucky SOB because not only has my landlord not raised rent this year but the poor bastard is always slaving away out front fixing/ watering/ shellacking something. Better him than me.

Great convo thus far

My wife lived in NYC for a decade, taught at a school in Corona, Queens, I spent a lot of time visiting her and riding my bike around.

I like NYC, to a point, but too many headaches and too expensive to live there.

I’ll be visiting again in late October.

I was kinda in your hood back in April - went to go see my girl Batya down in Sheepshead Bay.

My family and I are in Ithaca, not too far away.

If you ever find yourself up here on an Escape weekend or whatever, hmu.

NYC food is second to none. Getting food late where I live is impossible. So fucking ghey.

It’s an interesting factor that isn’t a factor I’ve thought about. I’d imagine I could go without names, but sometimes, especially for comedic effect, I could see repeating a quote from a life experience that included a name, or even integrating a name into an a essay title.
